POPULATION GROWTH EFFECTS ON TRANSPORT FACILITIES IN KADUNA SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF KADUNA STATE

This paper examined effect of population growth on transport facilities in Kaduna South, Nigeria. Data obtained were collected and summarized as absolute frequencies proportion using the simple descriptive percentage method presented a Histogram, Bar chart pie chart. The study revealed that from area, 36.3% respondents indicated infrastructure attracts result causing rapid growth, 27.4% Job opportunities, 22.2% security 14.1% unemployment cause growth. Also, data effects 32.2% overpopulation, 29.2 % pollution, 21.8% high crime rate 16.6% an growth; dominant mode transportation 75.2% Tricycle (Keke Napep), 2.6% Taxi; 2.9% bus; 7.8% Bikes 11.5% all modes (Tricycle, Taxi, Bus Bikes). major problems road transport, poor system, lack well-trained safety personnel, bad or reckless driving both commercial driver & private drivers, violation traffic rules are problem. concluded this research work has proven beyond doubt affects its Positively area.
